What course should I start with?
- Great question! There are a load of resources available as a Spexy Member so we know it can get a bit overwhelming having so many options. Using the Series Guide is your best bet. You can click on each course or series and learn more about it before diving in.
- At the beginning of each series Kayla has an intro video that will layout what will be covered and what you will learn in each episode.
- Most opticals start with the Spexy 101 course. We say assign all employees to go through the Spexy 101 course.
- Newbies with no experience.
- Tenured experts that have been in the industry for decades.
- Doctors that have been running the show for ages and those who are fresh out of school.
- Though the course was originally intended to get newbies the knowledge they need to learn while also becoming a contributing part of the team ASAP. What we have found is that there has not been a standard for new hires and many optometrists and opticians have given the feedback of, "I have been doing this slightly wrong for years because that is how I was taught, but this totally makes sense!"
I have a new hire that knows ZERO about optical. Where should they start?
- Start with the Spexy 101 course. This will get your newbie the knowledge they need to learn all the crazy dynamics of this optical world. At the same time the Spexy 101 Course is set up strategically in such a way that they becoming a contributing part of the team ASAP. This helps to take some of the workload off the rest of your team to help prevent burnout form your established employees.
I finished the Spexy 101 Course. What should I do next?
- The next massive practice builder is the Stop the Walkouts Series. This can be found in your library or by clicking the Series Guide .
- Stop the Walkouts Series will get everyone working in the optical key action items to implement to start building a stronger human connection with your patients from the moment they walk in the door.
- Many opticals have lost this human-touch. Yes, your patients love you, but if you have walkouts you are not utilizing your human connection to show them the reason they should trust you. Therefore, they don't trust you. They think, "I will just order online, whats the difference?" Stop the Walkouts makes the difference clear.

What does onboarding look like?
- You ready for this...it is immediate! That's right, once you activate either Spexy Membership you will have immediate access to the learning portal.
- For Spexy+ Premium Members you will immediately be given access to the FrameTurn Mastery Series. Here is where you can start learning what will be needed for setting up the FrameTurn portal with your data. Once you have collected all the necessary data, setting up your FrameTurn portal typically takes around 30 minutes. (The set up is the hardest we will ever ask you to work. We promise.)

Which Membership should I choose?
- The Spexy+ Membership will get you access to the learning portal and the Spexy Optical Excellence App with series after series and course after course. Think of it like Netflix for optical learning.
- The Spexy+ Premium Membership will get you access to the optical learning portal and the Spexy Optical Excellence App PLUS:
- Access to the FrameTurn Mastery Series and the FrameTurn portal.
- Your very own Spexy Advisor which will offer coaching and direction to optimize your optical inventory.
- Access to the Excellence Community with ProTip Talks.
- Ability to add additional one-on-one coaching opportunities.
What if I don't like the membership?
- At Spexy we never have contracts. You can stay as long as you love us, and cancel whenever you like. We will warn you though, we are going to work really hard to earn your love!
I have a new hire. What is the best way to get them started?
- You will need to assign your new hire a Team Access seat on your Spexy Membership. Then have them get started taking the Spexy 101 Course.
- Newbies with ZERO optical training? PERFECT! This will allow your newbie to become a contributing part of the team as quickly as possible. The Spexy 101 Course is set up intentionally to get them comfortable with helpful tasks as they continue through their learning in the course. You will also want to order them a hardcopy of the Optical Workbook.
- Even if they are a trained optical professional, having the foundation that fits your optical is a great way to get them off on the right foot. You will want them to go through the Spexy 101 Course because you don't know what they were taught or what may have been missed. We have had countless opticians tell us they have been working for decades and had no idea the "why" behind what they were doing everyday.
How long do I have to keep my membership?
- At Spexy we never have contracts. You can stay as long as you love us, and cancel whenever you like. We will warn you though, we are going to work really hard to earn your love!
How do I cancel my membership?
- Here is a step by step tutorial on how to cancel your membership. You must have an active subscription to view the tutorial.
- Please note if you cancel your membership:
- you will lose access to your Membership at the end of your billing period
- you will lose access to your Team Access usage at the end of the Membership billing cycle as an active main Membership is required to utilize Team Access
- you will lose access to the FrameTurn platform and your Optical Assessments at the end of your billing period

Team Access FAQs
How does Team Access work?
- For a fraction of the cost of membership, you can give access to each one of your team members via Team Access. You can purchase Team Access Seats for your membership and add and remove team members to the Team Access Seats as needed.
How do I use the Leadership Portal?
- Once you have purchased Team Access, you will then be guided to both video and written instructions on using your Leadership Portal.
How do I add and remove a team member from their Team Access Seat?
- Once you have purchased Team Access, you will then be guided to the instructions on using your Leadership Portal. The Leadership Portal is how the manager of your Spexy Membership will add and remove users from your Team Access Seats.
I am having trouble logging into the Leadership Portal.
- Make sure to watch the video on accessing the portal in the instructions on using your Leadership Portal. Many of the questions members have are answered in the instructions for the Login Setup.
- Upon purchasing Team Access the availability is pretty quick to access the portal. If you are having troubles after about 15 minutes, please reach out at [email protected] we are happy to help.
I have added my team member to a seat and they are having trouble logging in.
- Make sure to watch the video on adding users and follow all of the steps instructions on using your Leadership Portal. Many of the questions members have are answered in the instructions for adding a team member.
- The step often forgotten is to email the login instructions to the team member. Even if the Leadership Portal is not showing enrollment yet, they can login immediately.

How do I ADD more Team Access Seats to my Spexy Membership?

How do I Remove Team Access Seats from my membership?

My Spexy Membership lapsed and I cannot use my Team Access.
- Correct. You MUST have an active Spexy Membership in order to utilize Team Access even if it is already paid for. Not to worry though! All you need to do is reactivate your Spexy Membership using the same email login as before and you will be able to pickup right where you left off.
- You can re-activate your membership immediately here. Make sure to use the same email address as your original Spexy Membership before it lapsed.

Does Spexy offer special pricing for Buying Groups?
- We do not. We pride ourselves in offering crazy low pricing with jam-packed value for all independents in our industry!
- We do offer a 10% discount savings on annual purchases for all of our offerings!
Does Spexy offer any discounts?

I currently have monthly. How do I change to annual to get the savings?
- Great question! All you need to do is go ahead and purchase the annual version of the membership, then send us a quick email to [email protected] letting us know you upgraded and we will go about applying any unused credit to you account.
- Please note: the unused credit will be added to your annual membership and will extend your next renewal date by the dollar value credit. Applying the unused credit does not happen automatically so make sure to send us an email when you make the change.

Multiple Location FAQs
Do you offer discounts for multiple locations?
- For those with Spexy+ Premium Membership, there is a multiple location discount available!
- With multiple location practices, there are two options available:
- Multi-Location Discounted Access
- Multi-Location Full Access
- After the first location has it's Spexy+ Premium Membership active you can purchase your multiple locations to have the accounts linked
- For those who choose Multi-Location Discounted Access, that discounted location will have access to the learning portal, the Excellence Community, and the FrameTurn portal. They will have to share the coaching and meetings with the main membership location though.
- For offices wanting their own allotment of coaching meetings and specific direction, the Multi-Location Full Access is recommended.

Does Kayla do in-office trainings?
